Scratching his head Puppie locked himself away for 30 days and 30 nights and at the end of much banging, crashing and a string of words that a Puppie should not know, he triumphantly led out a metal contraption about the size of a family car, with a huge funnel on top. And there it stood for a further 4 days and 4 nights, without a sign of life until it started to rain. To the crowd that had gathered around the strange machine, the young Puppie proudly announced "behold the marvellous ice crystal machine".

With a turn of a handle the machine rattled into life, the crowd waited to see what it would do, within minutes bright blue ice crystals appeared, then red, then green. Puppie started to fill cups and pass them around for people to try. It was an instant hit, a drink full of flavour that was cool all the way to the bottom of the cup.

Word spread all over America about this cool drink that was brightly coloured and tasted really great, and everyone wanted to try it, but Puppie couldn’t make enough so Puppie turned his attention to making more machines and asked friends and relatives to help him make more. Soon Aunt Ida in Ohio to Uncle George in Boston were producing ice crystals.

It wasn’t long before the papers got hold of the story and came to interview Puppie about the new drink.

"What exactly is it?" they asked
"Well it’s not as hard as solid ice, but it’s not as fluid as water" Puppie replied
"Well what does that make it?" they asked.
"Well, Slush" said Puppie
"So, it’s Slush produced by a Puppie?"
"Yes, I suppose so" said Puppie.
"That’s not very catchy" the reporters proclaimed
"Let’s call it a ‘Slush Puppie’ then" said Puppie

So it was, Slush Puppie was born.

Having swept America it wasn’t long before a young Puppie called Ralph on holiday in America thought that his friends would like this at home, and decided to take a machine back to London, England, and that was that, Slush Puppie grew to where it is today, the Number One ice crystal drink in the world with many fabulous flavours.
